- Story Text: Nicolas Cage is back at the annual Comic-Con expo to promote his latest film, a sequel to 2007's "Ghost Rider."
Cage, who's reprising his role as the troubled comic book anti-hero Johnny Blaze in the upcoming "Ghost Rider-Spirit of Vengeance," arrived in San Diego Friday (July 22) for day two of the festival.
The actor told Reuters that he feels right at home with hardcore comic fans who make the yearly pilgrimage to the comic book mecca.
"Afterwards I usually sign posters and I get a chance to have an exchange," said Cage.
"It is always very enthusiastic. I like people who are not afraid to take trips to their imagination. I like people who go outside the box. Comic-Con is the kind of audience we have here," said Cage.
As for "Ghost Rider" sequel, Cage explained that he really likes the character and his role.
"I like him because he is complex. I like him because he's philosophical, difficult, challenging role that is still aspires to do good. Everyone gets in trouble in life. It is interesting t o see someone who is an anti-hero , in this day and age. There are a lot of cookie-cutter superheroes. I like them too. But, Ghost Rider offers up a different experience because he is complex and he does have problem. I find that always fascinating to watch," he says.
