Several dozen people came to the motorway near the town of Tamisk in North Ossetia on Sunday (August 31) to greet the soldiers withdrawing from Georgia and relocating to their home base.
"Today is a historic day. We came to greet the liberators, the peacekeepers who helped the Ossetian people," said local resident Albina Khadartseva.
The convoy of APC stopped briefly to receive flowers and gifts wrapped in plastic bags with a logo of the ruling United Russia party.
