- Story Text: Supervillain Megamind and his worst enemy, super hero Metro Man, share the same upbringing - both were shot into space by their parents when they were only a few days old. One of them turned evil and the other one good. It starts like any other super hero movie, only then happens what never happens in super hero movies. The evil wins.
Tom McGrath's first 3D animation is a parody of all movie heroes. Star of the movie is the little blue villain 'Megamind'. American actor Will Ferrell lends him his voice in the English version. The comedian, who became famous starring in the TV-show 'Saturday Night Live', visited Berlin on Tuesday (November 30) to promote the movie just before its start in cinemas on December 2.
"It's kind of my first time doing an animated film, doing a voice, so this was really fun to kind of explore a character like this, which I found to be a very unique story and getting to play this evil villain, who then ultimately learns how to become a good guy I thought was a fun thing", Ferrell told Reuters TV.
Ferrell gave his character a strange accent and made him mispronounce some words, which according to Ferrell adds to his likeability.
"I think there is a great likeability to this character, cause he is, even though he is the bad guy, the villain, you really feel sympathetic to him, because he is kind of a sweet person, who is just misunderstood in a way. So I kind of identify with his sweet side."
