- Story Text: It's a room the Swiss Family Robinson could call home,
a place as gouda as it gets.An artist in New York has
covered an entire hotel room in melted cheese.
A hotel room covered in Swiss cheese is, well,
breath-taking.The view is somewhat astounding, but it is the
smell that makes you stop breathing the air in the room.
A New York City artist had the idea of covering everything
in the room, the beds, the lamps, the telephone, the clock with
cheese.A small midtown Manhattan hotel donated the
space, they say, to show their sight-seeing guests a little
more of New York.
Artist Cosimo Cavallaro created the exhibit in New York
City's Washington Jefferson Hotel.Manager Bob Lindenbaum
told Reuters Television News "Well this is a hotel in New York
City as you know, and we figure we have all these guests
coming into New York. They want to see things about New York.
And we figure let them start off by seeing something here in
the Hotel."
Lindenbaum said that on a warm day, the exhibit's smell
gets stronger. It smells like, what else, Swiss cheese.
