English Premier League leaders Chelsea face struggling West Ham on Saturday (Setpember 11) when play resumes after a two-week break, but manager Carlo Ancelotti thinks it could be a tougher match than people expect.
"I think it will be a tough game because West Ham they have not in a good moment, they lost three games the start. They didn't have a good start for the season. Maybe they have a great opportunity to fight against the team at the top of the table. They have to know that can can happen, the same game against Wigan. We had a lot of difficulty in the first half against Wigan we have to know could be the same tomorrow," Ancelotti told a news conference on Friday at the club's training ground in Cobham, southwest of London.
Influential midfielder Frank Lampard is out injured, but Ancelotti said captain John Terry is fit to play on Saturday.
"The situation is fine. We don't have a lot of problem. The players involved in the international play are fit. They don't have a problem. John Terry is available to play tomorrow. Lampard need to have more time to rest. He trained with us this week. The recovery very well, but we need to have more time. So maybe he will be involved in the next game in the Champions League. Not tomorrow," said Ancelotti.
Terry, who has won 65 caps and scored six goals since making his international debut in the centre of defence in 2003, missed the two recent internationals because of a hamstring injury.
Lampard, who has won 83 caps and scored 20 goals from midfield, needed a hernia operation recently which kept him sidelined. - Copyright Holder: FILE REUTERS (CAN SELL)
