- Story Text: Baywatch star Pamela Anderson Lee was reported to be back at work after she was was taken by ambulance to hospital on Friday (October 13) suffering from flu-like symptons.
She was initially treated in the emergency room of the Westlake Medical Center after becoming ill on Thursday night at her Malibu, California home. She was then transferred and admitted to St.
John's Hospital in Santa Monica, California where she underwent more testing under the supervision of her private doctor.
"She was doing fine, and has gone home," said a spokeswoman for St. John's Hospital. She said she had no more details on the 27-year-old star's condition.
Earlier, hospital officials denied rumours that Anderson had suffered from a drug overdose.
Anderson's publicist Anne Israel blamed stress and exhaustion for her illness.
Israel was quoted by the British newspaper "Today" as saying "She is exhausted by her hectic schedule. She woke up and she wasn't feeling well. She was sluggish and very flu-ish, so she went to hospital for treatment. When you are a movie star and you get ill, you have to get better right away because of work commitments".
There was another report that Anderson said she had collapsed because she is pregnant.
She has suffered at least two miscarriages already, one of which came after doctors discovered her pregnancy during an operation to remove a benign cyst earlier this year.
Anderson is married to Tommy Lee, the drummer for heavy metal rock band Motley Crue.
Anderson and Lee have been trying for a baby since their whirlwind courtship and marriage in February of this year. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
