- Story Text: Film stars Sylvester Stallone and Gerard Depardieu, top models and a champion Sumo wrestler attended the opening of a Planet Hollywood restaurant on the Champs Elysee in Paris on Thursday (October 12) night.
The opening had been delayed because of the bombing campaign in France.
Stallone, who was asked if he had been afraid to come to Paris, said he was afraid of "nothing except women." Stallone, whose film "Assassins" opened throughout Europe at the beginning of October, is co-owner of the restaurant.
Top models such as Eva Herzkova, who was in Paris for the Spring/Summer ready-to-wear fashion shows, also went to the party.
Barricades held the crowds back from the entrance so the stars could enter.
Planet Hollywood has locations all over the world and is best-known for its extensive collection of movie and television memorabilia.
It's partially owned by celebrity investors including Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, and Stallone.
Recent Planet Hollywood openings include Helsinki and Beverly Hills last month, and branches are due to open in Barcelona and Tel Aviv later this year. In 1996, Planet Hollywood's expansion will continue with openings in Berlin, Amsterdam, Vienna, Rome and Prague. There are also plans to expand the chain in the United States and Asia.
