Summary:The second battle of El Alamein between October 23 and November 4 1942 was one of the most decisive of World War II. The British forces led by Montgomery completed a devastating attack on the German and Italian forces under the command of Erwin Rommel. After El Alamein the German forces were pushed out of Egypt and back across Libya to the Tunisian boarder were they were cornered by US troops coming from the West. NOTE: Date is approximate.
