- Story Text: The Brazilian mother of Mick Jagger's youngest child was back in a Manhattan court on Monday (June 19), seeking child support more in line with the rocker's other children.
Luciana Morad, the 29-year-old Brazilian model had an affair with 55-year-old Jagger in 1998. In May 1999, she gave birth to Lucas in a Manhattan hospital.
The birth of the child was the final straw for wife Jerry Hall, who immediately filed for divorce to end their eight year marriage.
The lawyer for the Brazilian model asked a Family Court hearing examiner on Monday (June 19) to order the 56-year-old Rolling Stones star to give a net worth financial statement to the court, so a decision can be made as to the amount the singer has to pay in child support.
But Jagger's attorney, John Vassallo said he would appeal against the decision, saying it was unnecessary to disclose his financial wealth "because he can pay whatever the hearing examiner orders."
Jagger was also ordered to testify by telephone on August 1 as to the amount of money he pays for his other children's security and transportation. He has six other children and two grandchildren.
Jagger, who was not in the New York courtroom on Monday, previously admitted being the father to one-year-old Lucas.
But Morad, who was in court, took the witness stand to testify about a detailed 22 item budget she prepared as to the child's needs. She is seeking $35,000 a month in child support.
Among the monthly expenses she told Hearing Examiner David Kirshbaum that she wanted $1,300 for a full-time nanny, $150 for health insurance, $500 every month for the child's laser surgery to treat a growth behind Lucas' right ear plus a $35,000 one-time medical payment to his physician, $600 for food, $150 for telephone and cellular service for the nanny, $1,000 for airline fare to Brazil, England or France, $3,600 for hotel, $2,000 for car service, $5,600 for security in Brazil and $2,917 in New York and, $6,000 to rent a two- bedroom apartment "because Mick told me to live in New York City, since he wanted less embarrassment for his children."
Morad is also seeking $150,000 for her lawyer, Raoul Felder.
Jagger has sent Morad $78,0009 in child support between July 1999 and June 2000.
Jagger's marriage to model Jerry Hall was declared null and void in 1999 after Hall filed for divorce and he questioned the legality of their 1991 wedding ceremony in Bali. The couple had four children during more than 20 years together. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
