- Story Text: The British and Irish Lions took an afternoon off on their training schedule for a bit of relaxation Australian style.
After their defeat at the hands of Australia A, some of the British and Irish Lions squad seemed to decide to try their hands at other sports.
The squad members, including Neil Jenkins, David Young and Jason Robinson, also tried their hand at a bit of surf life saving, though to spectators it wasn't exactly clear who needed rescuing.
In Coffs Harbour, the Wallabies continued their more traditional training programme.
The Lions next match is this Saturday (23 June) against the New South Wales Waratahs.
The NSW Waratahs are the oldest union in Australia and boast a proud history against international touring teams.
The first unofficial clash between NSW and the Lions took place in Sydney on 2 June 1888 with the Lions winning 18-2, and they have played a total of 14 matches since.
Under new coach Bob Dwyer the Waratahs have shown a dramatic improvement this season, only just missing a place in the Super 12 semifinals with their youthful team.
The side to play the Lions on Saturday includes nine members of the Australia "A" team that defeated the tourists 28-25 in Gosford on Tuesday, but the Sydney Football Stadium holds fond memories for the Lions -- as it was there that they won the deciding test of the 1989 series. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
