- Story Text: A dress worn by former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell has been sold at an auction for more than 36,000 pounds sterling.
The money will go to the charity Sargent Cancer Care for Children.
The Union Jack dress which former Ginger Spice wore at the 1997 Brit Awards was sold on Wednesday (September 16) at the auction house Sotheby's in London.
The price included the buyer's - the Hard Rock Hotel in Los Angeles - premium of 15%.
Amongst other items being sold were a belly dancer and a stars and stripes outfit.
Geri Halliwell thanked the audience for supporting the children's cancer charity saying that she appreciated that the money was going back to the cause that was very close to her heart.
