- Story Text: Poland will take the necessary steps to facilitate visa requirements for Turkish businessmen, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk told a business forum on Thursday (December 09).
"I will personally take the necessary steps to ease visa requirements for Turkish businessmen and I will also try to heap pressure on European Union to relax the Schengen visa regulations," Tusk said on the second day of his official visit.
Tusk also said that Poland has been urging the European Union to ease visa regimes for all European partners.
He also re-emphasised Poland's stance on Turkey's EU membership bid.
"EU enlargement and Turkey's membership to the block are constant facts in Poland's political strategy. I am not showing courtesy," Tusk said.
The Polish Premier was on a two-day visit to Turkey after holding talks with Turkish leaders in the capital city of Ankara after which he flew to Istanbul, Turkey's cultural and business centre, to liaise with Turkish entrepreneurs on various investment opportunities in the country. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
