- Story Text: Actress Jennifer Aniston walked the red carpet Tuesday (September 15) night at the Los Angeles premiere of her new film "Love Happens."
Co-star Aaron Eckhart and other cast members joined her in talking to the press about the romantic drama that tells the story of a man struggling to recover from the death of his wife who unexpectedly finds love.
Eckhart portrays a therapist by the name of Dr. Burke Ryan who writes a wildly popular book on grief that launches him into the spotlight.
But although he asks his patients to openly confront their pain, he is secretly unable to take his own advice or practice what he preaches.
When Dr. Ryan travels to Seattle to teach a sold-out seminar he unexpectedly meets floral designer Eloise Chandler (played by Jennifer Aniston), who turns out to be the one person who might finally be able to help him help himself.
Although Chandler (Aniston) has sworn-off men, sparks fly when she meets Ryan (Eckhart) and recognize their instant attraction to one another.
Eckhart talked about why the title "Love Happens" fit the on-screen tale and hinted at how the name of the motion picture may have also characterized his life away from the cameras.
"I love that title. It's a hot title," smiled Eckhart, 41. "I was very happy. Usually when they, you know, a movie kind of recycles titles or whatever, you're like ahh. But I really like this title. So love happens in the movie. Love is happening now in life. And, you know, there are different kinds of love, too."
Eckhart also talked about how Aniston offered suggestions to him as they worked their way through the script.
"She didn't have any tips, she would just look at me like, 'You're really going to do that?' or 'Maybe you should try it this way.' Stuff like that. And here she comes. So you can ask her. (Okay.) See you later."
Aniston moved quickly down the press line pausing momentarily for each reporter until she caught up with Eckhart.
When asked what she enjoyed most about making her latest movie about finding love, 40-year-old Aniston replied, "Because I got to work with him."
Aniston and Eckhart then playfully embraced on the red carpet and joked with reporters about how much they enjoyed working together.
The popular actress also alluded to more than one "private joke" between the two.
"Love Happens" also stars Martin Sheen, John Carroll Lynch, and Judy Greer.
The film was helmed by Brandon Camp in his directorial debut.
The premiere did not appear to be overshadowed by news that earlier in the day two writers who claimed the premise of the film was stolen from them had filed a lawsuit and were seeking an injunction against its release with 100 (USD) million dollars in penalties.
"Love Happens" is set to open across North American on Friday, September 18th. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
