- Story Text: Irish singer and song-writer Dolores O'Riordan, formerly known as the voice of The Cranberries, is visiting Taiwan on Monday (April 23) on her first stop in Asia to promote her new album.
Ten years ago the Cranberries were the biggest indie band in the world and sold in excess of 40 million albums world-wide, but the pressure of fame caused singer O'Riordan to have a nervous breakdown. Now she is ready to face the world again - alone.
O'Riordan, now 35 and preparing to release her debut solo album 'Are You Listening?', her first foray back into music after four years of silence.
"I spent four years away from the entertainment industry and away from the public completely. I moved into a forest for about a year and half, and basically just a period when writing became a heartbeat again," she said.
Other than new songs, O'Riordan delighted her her long-time fans with old hits like "Linger". - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
