- Story Text: Cricket ... and in Bridgetown, barbados had scored 62 runs for the loss of one wicket at the close of play on the third day (13 March) of their four-day match against Australia. They need another 158 to make the tourists bat again. Barbados were all out for 291 in their first innings, to which Australia replied with 511, including centuries by Craig Serjeant and Bobby Simpson.
SYNOPSIS: Australia's overnight pair of Darling, facing Holder, and Wood began the second day where they left off-both scoring freely.
Collis King almost had Darling caught when Skeete made a spectacular diving attempt.
Clarke to Wood...
When Darling holed out to mid-wicket, to be caused by substitute Trotman, the pair had put on 125 - the first century opening stand of the tour.
After losing Darling for 62, Wood benefited from some fielding errors.
Serjeant, facing Clarke, joined Wood.
Padmore to Wood. Murray is the wicket keeper.
Deceiving Wood, Padmore had him easily stumped for 75.
Wood's departure brought on David Ogilvie, and the scene was set for another century partnership.
But Ogilvie had a narrow escape early on when he mishit King.
At the other end, Serjeant staggered through some horrid moments before completing his half-century.
The partnership ended when King had Ogilvie caught by Beackles for 50. They put on 129 for the third wicket.
Simpson then joined Serjeant. Here, he scores a single off Beackles.
Serjeant completed his century with a quick single.
A large crowd at the Kensington Oval saw Serjeant go on to make 114 before being caught on the boundary off Daniel.
