- Story Text: While Turkish Government is trying lately to create problems over the control of the Northern Aegean, Greece continues her defense program peacefully as scheduled some two years ago. The Greek Army now uses french AMX-30 armoured and other modern missiles, while the Navy has been reinforced recently by french fast torpedo-boats and four german submarines, notwithstanding the other units handxd over to Greece by the USA through NATO. Finally, the Airforce acquired quite recently a number of Phantom F-4 planes.
Greek President, General Phaedon Gizikis, after having inspected the Armed Forces of the Greek North, reviewed this afternoon at Salamis Island Naval Base the Greek Fleet and the recently acquired new units. The president was accompanied by the Navy's Chief, Vice-Admiral Arapakis.
