- Story Text: Bosnian Government soldiers who attempted to resist the Bosnian Serb assault on Srebrenica and escaped across country rested near Tuzla on Tuesday (July 18) and spoke of their experiences.
Some spoke of atrocities perpetrated by Bosnian Serbs.
One Bosnian Government soldier said Bosnian Serbs cut the ears and noses off living people. He said he saw Bosnian Serbs strap hand grenades to the heads of Bosnian government soldiers' heads and then explode them.
He added that a captured Bosnian Serb officer had said a force of over 20,000 Bosnian Serb soldiers had been available for the onslaught on Srebrenica.
Another Government soldier said she had been on a bus from Srebrenica on which the Bosnian Serb Army Commander General Ratko Mladic had ridden as a passenger.
During the journey, she said, he had told the Bosnian Moslems that they could either go to Hungary or to Tuzla, but if they went to Tuzla they would soon be fleeing again as they had from Srebrenica.
