- Story Text: The build-up of NATO (North Atlantic Treaty Organisation) forces in the former Yugoslavia continued on Tuesday (December 26), but not without some problems.
Heavy rains continued to cause flooding at one United States (U.S.) camp on the northern banks of the Sava river at Zupanja in Croatia. According to Captain Robert Fincher, the Commander of the U.S. 502 company, his troops are preparing to evacuate the area in case the river continues to rise.
The U.S. army units based in Zupanja arrived there just over a week ago to set-up a pontoon bridge over the Sava river which will allow U.S. Implementation Force (IFOR) convoys to fan out into Bosnian territory.
