- Story Text: German basketball team Alba won the final of the "Belgrade Trophy" international tournament with an 87-82 win over Red Star Belgrade on Sunday (September 3).
Despite trailing 39-51 at the interval, the Germans came back strongly in the second half in the face of some vehement support from over 4,500 Red Star fans.
Alebegovic top-scored for Alba with 20 points, Roedl and Odstruk weighed in with 13 apiece.
Radovic netted the bulk of Red Star's baskets, scoring 26 points.
In the play-off for third place, Olympiakos of Athens beat Partizan Belgrade and Panathinaikos of Athens edged out Radnicki CIP of Belgrade 95-94 to finish fifth.
All the proceeds from the three-day tournament will be used for humanitarian purposes.
