- Story Text: Meeting including former dissident from around the
world in Prague offers support to Cuban dissident movement
A three day conference held by International Committee for
Democracy in Cuba began in Prague on Friday
(September 17). Established in 2003, the movement aims to
promote the democracy movement in Cuba and help them
prepare for the fall of Castro's Communist regime.
Delegates including Spain's former Prime Minister Jose
Maria Aznar said that the Cuban authorities to stop using
the economic embargo to legitimize the suffering of the
Cuban people. They also also requested that Castro allow
Cuban dissidents to attend the conference.
