Vanessa Mae has changed the face of classical music in Asia since she hit the big time seven years ago at the age of 12.
The sassy performer has inspired admiration at bothof the musical spectrum."China Girl - The Classical Album 2", which follows her pop album "Storm", reached number one in the UK classical charts after its release in January. Her previous "Classical Album 1" conquered every classical chart in the world.
Now she's ready to take on China, the biggest Asian market of them all.
Ten thousand fans attended the first concert in Shanghai of the China leg of her current Asian tour.
The 19-year-old superstar (known in China as "Chen Mei") played two concerts in Shanghai before heading to the capital Beijing.
