  • Story Text: World renowned entertainers Siegfried and Roy were given the ultimate Hollywood honor on Thursday (September 23) when they were bestowed a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
    The ceremony took place only hours before the premiere of their first movie, a three-dimensional feature film production on IMAX.
    One of the most lucrative entertainment entities of the twentieth century, Siegfried Fischbacher and Roy Horn were treated as Hollywood royalty at the unveiling of their star on the Walk of Fame.
    The two German-born showmen, who met 40 years ago on a cruise ship, have become one of the hottest and highest priced acts to ever appear in Las Vegas where they have performed for more than two decades.
    "Siegfried and I came here about 30 years ago," said Roy at the ceremony "I had no idea this could ever happen."
    There is a lot happening for the tiger training Roy and illusionist Siegfried most recognized for their acts featuring their magnificent Royal White Tigers.Later on Thursday, their first movie, called "The Magic Box," was scheduled to premiere in a southern California IMAX theatre.
    "The Magic Box" chronicles the successes of Siegfried and Roy from their childhood days in post World War II Germany to their fateful meeting on a German cruise liner where Roy was a steward and Siegfried was a stage magician, culminating with their ascension to the glitz and glamour that is Las Vegas.
    "Only in America," said a teary eyed Siegfried."I can't say I even had the audacity to think sometime there will be a star of mine here."
    Siegfried and Roy hope to continue living the American dream with big screen success for "The Magic Box.
