U.S. rock singer Bobs Dylan was named Commander of the Order of Arts and Letters, one of France's highest honours, by the French Ministry of Culture on Tuesday (30/1).
Dylan, 48, best known for his 1960s folk songs protesting against social injustice, was to give four concerts in Paris.
Minister of Culture Jack Lang presented Dylan with the award.
