- Story Text: Heads of states who arrived in Moscow to attend Victory Day celebration, laid flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and attended reception in the Kremlin after viewing parade on the Red Square.
Foreign leaders from nearly 20 countries, including President Hu Jintao of China, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, Israeli President Shimon Peres, Acting polish President Bronislaw Komorowski, Czech President Vaclav Klaus, heads of the CIS states arrived in the Russian capital to take part in the the celebration of the 65th anniversary of the victory over Nazi Germany.
The wreath-laying ceremony was followed by walk through the Kremlin and photographing on the Kremlin's Cathedral Square.
Later heads of states attended the reception for veterans and guests in the Kremlin Grand Palace.
Victory Day is one of Russia's most important public holidays and Defence Minister Anatoly Serdyukov said that this year's commemorations would be among the biggest ever, with over 102,000 troops marching in cities across this vast country. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
