- Date: 29th December 2010
- Summary: BERLIN, GERMANY (DECEMBER 3, 2010) (REUTERS) (SOUNDBITE) (English) ACTOR, SETH ROGEN, WHO PLAYS BRITT REID, SAYING: "We all got along really well and rehearsed quite a bit, and we read through the scenes a lot before we actually filmed them. I can confidently say those were the most rehearsed and prepared aspects of the entire movie, action scenes included and we came up with a lot of the stuff, really in the room together, just kind of talking about it and it was great. Everyone had some great ideas and as the writer it made our jobs a hell of a lot easier, to get so much input from these guys."

- Story Text: It's a film based on a comic - but with a difference. "The Green Hornet", starring Cameron Diaz and Seth Rogen, is a 3D film based on a popular 1930's US show that was also turned into a comic and a TV series with Bruce Lee. The remake also stars German actor Christoph Waltz and Taiwanese singer Jay Chou.
Rogen, who also co-wrote the film, says the group of actors and actresses bonded well on set.
"We all got along really well and rehearsed quite a bit, and we read through the scenes a lot before we actually filmed them. I can confidently say those were the most rehearsed and prepared aspects of the entire movie, action scenes included and we came up with a lot of the stuff, really in the room together, just kind of talking about it and it was great. Everyone had some great ideas and as the writer it made our jobs a hell of a lot easier, to get so much input from these guys," he said.
In "The Green Hornet", Britt Reid (Seth Rogen) is the son of LA's most prominent and respected media magnate and perfectly happy to maintain a directionless existence on the party scene - until his father mysteriously dies, leaving Britt his vast media empire. Striking an unlikely friendship with one of his father's more industrious and inventive employees, Kato (Jay Chou), they see their chance to do something meaningful for the first time in their lives: fight crime. Britt becomes the vigilante "Green Hornet" as he and Kato hit the streets. Rolling in a mobile fortress on wheels and striking the bad guys with Kato's clever gadgets, The Green Hornet and Kato quickly start making a name for themselves and with the help of Britt's new secretary Lenore Chase (Cameron Diaz), they begin hunting down the man who controls LA's gritty underworld: Benjamin Chudnofsky (Christoph Waltz). But Chudnofsky has plans of his own: to swat down The Green Hornet once and for all.
Diaz says she decided to take on the project because it was about action heros, but not as they are traditionally known.
"What I loved about it as well is that it isn't, it's not a super hero in the typical sense. These guys don't spin webs, they don't shoot lasers, they're not impenetrable to bullets, they are vulnerable to death and emotions. And it was the relationship, the story was about the relationship of Kato and Britt and so it's completely unique. You know I love that. If I'm going to do a super hero film then I thought this would be the right one to do," she said.
Academy Award-winning Austrian actor Christoph Waltz said that he had no idea about comics but that this didn't put him off taking the part of Chudnofsky.
"Surprisingly I had heard of The Green Hornet but I had no idea bout the details or about the characters. This film is not about the classic Green Hornet story but that's about as much as I know about comics, so I was able to realise that when Michel Gondry makes such a big comic film and Seth Rogen plays the main role, that it will not be just a normal thing."
