- Story Text: Actor Orlando Bloom says his new thriller will get audiences thinking. The star was chatting to Reuters promoting the film 'Unlocked'.
"It's authentic and real and gritty and accessible and I feel like you've got a thriller on your hands that people will really engage with", said Bloom.
Bloom plays an M15 agent working with Noomi Rapace's character, a CIA investigator, who is in a race against time to stop a chemical attack on London after she unintentionally releases information to terrorists.
The film which is directed by Michael Apted also stars Michael Douglas, Toni Colette and John Malkovich.
Talking about an incident earlier in the week when fellow actor Tom Hardy's chased and apprehended a man who had stolen a moped in London, Bloom said he could do the same before joking, "I could take a sword and chase em down and poke em in the eye," - a reference to his swordsmanship skills he's picked up while acting.
The British native now lives in LA and credits his family for keeping him grounded. "You know I like my life and I'm blessed to have it and my family and my friends. I've always tried to keep a basic philosophical idea that I'm very grateful for everything in my life," said Bloom.
'Unlocked' which is one of four films Bloom will appear in this year, including the new installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise, will be released on May 5 in the UK. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
