- Story Text: Britain's Prince Harry visited the Nature Fun Ranch in Saint Andrew, Barbados on Thursday (December 1) to see a youth program during his tour marking the island's 50 years of independence.
Harry was hosted by the program's founder Corey Lane, a once-troubled teen who has devoted himself to helping young people with their personal development.
The project teaches the youth to tend to horses, work on vegetable patches and manage fish hatcheries among other activities while they are allowed to speak freely with one another about important topics, including HIV/AIDS.
Harry also met the young people that are benefiting from the project.
Later in the afternoon Harry was expected to head to Paragon Base, the home of the Barbados Defence Force where he is to see how the Eastern Caribbean countries work together at the Regional Security System (RSS), and learn more about the Defence Force's response to combating security threats and the drug trade operating within the region.
The day is expected to finish with the 50th Anniversary Military Parade at Kensington Oval. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
