- Story Text: "Gori Tere Pyaar Mein!" ('My Fair Lady, In Your Love') sees Indian superstars Kareena Kapoor and Imran Khan reunite for another big budget Bollywood song and dance extravaganza.
Khan plays Sriram Venkat, an extremely shallow man with no cares in the world who is suddenly smitten by social activist Dia Sharma (Kapoor).
Their relationship goes well until their ideologies clash and Dia leaves town to go to the remote village of Jhumli. Hoping to win her back, city-loving Sriram embarks on an unexpected journey.
However, Khan who was promoting the film in London on Thursday (October 31) alongside Kapoor, says that the story is irrelevant.
"In these kinds of films - romantic comedies - it really ultimately does come down to the chemistry and the attraction between your lead pair. The stories frankly you know where they are going to end up, you have a good sense of how things are going to play out. It's the journey that's entertaining. There's that give and take and that play between the two characters, which - I mean, not to pat myself on the back - we're very good at," he said.
This isn't the first time the pair have teamed up. They had a hit with 'Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu' last year. When asked if they had developed a brother sister relationship, Kapoor exclaimed Brother and sister relationship? I don't know. Our producer would die if he ever knew me and Imran had a brother sister relationship. He'd be like 'No! You can't say you have a brother sister relationship while promoting a movie which is a love story'. But no, there's a certain amount of comfort that you have with each other after working together."
The movie contains some energetic song and dance numbers like 'Chingam Chabake' and 'Dhat Teri Ki'. Talking about how it is to shoot these things, Kapoor said
"Yeah I think actors find dancing a lot more annoying than the actresses. I enjoy it, especially if like in this film when we've done a lot of fun dancing rather than the typical choreographed moves which I don't prefer. I enjoy shooting these songs but we do it on an average of three to four days if we're shooting a particular song sequence. Sometimes it goes on for ten days."
The song "Tooh", which is being described as the official song, is a very saucy dance tune about shaking your behind.
"The song is a blast, man. It's a very cheeky song. It's the kind of thing that you want people to laugh at, you want people to do the step along with. They're not very complicated steps. It's the kind of thing anyone can look at, the song sticks, the steps will stick," said Kahn. Kapoor added "You just pick it up and everyone can do it. That was the idea of it, that the steps should be that when you watch it everyone wants to do something that's easy and light and fun."
Khan recently said in an interview that he was very impressed by Kapoor's 'Tooh' during the shooting of the scene, and added that it was the best behind ever, aside from his own.
"He's quite confident about it" quipped Kapoor, adding "I haven't really checked it out but now that you mention it, maybe I should."
