- Story Text: An Australian who has walked more than one hundred kilometres with a bottle perched on his head - is 'milking' the attention for all its worth - in a bid to help children.
Sri Lankan born Suresh Joachim walked his way into the record books for the 17th time on Saturday (September 29th) when he completed a 133 kilometre (80 miles) nonstop walk around Martin Place in Sydney's central business district (CBD) with a full bottle of milk balanced on his head.
His 'gold top' performance took approximately 29 hours, and aimed to raise awareness for the Universal Fund For Suffering Children (UFFORSC), a charity dedicated to help poverty stricken children all over the world.
Spectators looked on in amazement as Joachim passed their eyes with the pint or so of pasteurized milk on his head.
A passing cyclist said "I'm just trying to work out what possesses someone to balance a milk bottle on their head at
30 at night time. That's pretty well it."
Another late night spectator said "Yeah, pretty unusual sort of thing to see these days, I guess. I haven't seen anyone break the Guinness world record attempt before so it's something interesting."
Joachim carefully paced his way around the small square with a bottle of milk delicately balanced on his head.
"I feeling a lot of suffering at the moment but I'm dedicating for the suffering of the children because I have one goal I have to achieve some how that point so it's not the strong mind and I'm aware of the pain, Joachim said."
Joachim's latest achievement adds to his long list of 17 world records; including three long distance running records, balancing on one foot for over 76 hours, standing motionless for over 21 hours, travelling up and down escalators for over 225 kilometres, dribbling a basketball for over 156 kilometres in a 24 hour period, non stop dj marathon (85 hours), and most recently a 56. 62km crawl in a circle .
The tireless Joachim is however not intending to rest on his laurels. He is already planning an attempt at a triple English Channel crossing, fastest circumnavigation of the world by helicopter (in less than 17 days), and the longest space walk (more than 8. 5 hours).
Barring anyone taking any of his current titles from him, he now only requires three more world records to achieve his ultimate aim - to be the world record holder for holding world records . - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
