  • Story Text: WBC heavyweight champion Vitali Klitschko will meet American Kevin Johnson in Berne, Switzerland on Saturday (December 12) in what will be his third title defence this year.
    Ukrainian Klitschko, whose brother Vladimir holds the IBF, IBO and WBO crowns, retained his WBC title with a 10th round TKO over previously undefeated challenger Cristobal Arreola last month.
    That victory was Klitschko's third since returning to the ring in 2008 following an injury-induced retirement in 2005.
    "I'm World Champion. I keep as long as possible, the same belt. I will not give the chance to Kevin Johnson to take my belt away," said Klitschko at a training session open to media and fans on Wednesday (December 9).
    Klitschko, 38, has a record of 38-2, while undefeated Johnson, 30, has 22 wins and a draw.
    "Retire him, make this his last fight. I don't just want to beat him, I don't just want the belt I want to retire him," said a confident Johnson.
