It is the first ever official visit by the Brazilian president to Bulgaria.
Rousseff attended an official welcome ceremony on Alexander Nevksy square and laid a wreath at the Monument to the Unknown Soldier.
After the ceremony, Rousseff attended talks with Bulgarian President Georgi Parvanov and Prime Minister Boyko Borisov, which focused on ways to boost relations between the two countries.
