- Story Text: Hamburg SV and RSC Anderlecht trained at Constant Vanden Stock Stadium in Brussels on Wednesday (March 17) in preparation for Thursday's (March 18) UEFA Europa League Match.
The match is the second-leg of the club's Round 16 tie in which Hamburg have a 3-1 advantage following the first leg in Germany last week.
Anderlecht Coach Ariel Jacobs outlined his team's gameplan as they face the uphill task of overturning a two goal deficit.
"In tomorrow's game the most important thing is to score first. It's a very important element at any moment. I think that this could create some doubt among them at that point and maybe give us a feeling of confidence. We had that feeling as well when it was 2-0 then 2-1 in Hamburg," he said.
Despite the two goal cushion Hamburg coach Bruno Labbadia is wary of the Belgian side, who do have the benefit of an away goal scored by Johnathan Legear.
"Even with the result of 3-1 I estimate the quality of Anderlecht to be very high. I'm happy that we scored three times, three-nil would have been better but Anderlecht scored a fantastic goal so we know we have to stay very calm. But we are very confident because we managed to beat a team that hasn't lose a lot of games this season", said Labbadia.
Hamburg, who will host the final in May, are one of three German sides in the last 16 along with VFL Wolfsburg and Bremen.
Anderlecht are one of two Belgian sides left in the competition, alongside Standard Liege.
The winner of this game will qualify for the quarter-finals of the Europa League. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
