Summary:December 18 1953 - an international team of archaeologists reveal the remains of the temple of Karnak, alongside the Nile in Egypt. This site, to the north of Luxor, proved one of the most remarkable sites in the Middle East. Uncovered from beneath centuries of sand, these ancient temples showed something of the scale of architecture 2,000 years before Christ.
