- Story Text: An icon of Argentine rock, Pedro Aznar, performed Friday (October 22) for Bolivian fans in La Paz.
Earlier in the day the musician spoke to the press about the importance of latin music throughout the world.
"In each town they add new inflections or little ideas and changes that grow as time passes and that is the music of that region of the various countries of the Andes , Peru, Chile, Ecuador, Argentina and Bolivia," he said adding that Argentine rock has been "sitting a little on its laurels."
Aznar was the bass player for Pat Metheny and a founding member of the Argentine rock group Seru Giran.
He touched on a law proposed by the government of President Cristina Kircher where he confessed that many simply don't know what it is about.
"There are people against (proposed Argentine law) and others don't know what it is about. This has to do with local media production companies and it is something that should have been discussed a long time ago and it wasn't. It is absolutely absurd that the local production (companies) does not have anything to do with the local media," said Aznar.
His latest album "Alone with WOrld" is set to be released in November. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
