Summary:July 3 1954 - the French withdrawal from their colony in Indo-China - later to be known as Vietnam - continues. As the Americans were to find twenty years later, superior fire-power was no match for the guerrilla-type war being waged against them by the Viet-Minh under the military leadership of the legendary General Giap. So, French forces gradually withdrew to Hanoi and slowly yielded to the inevitable.
