- Story Text: A woman suspected of being one of Colonel Gaddafi's female bodyguards has been detained by rebel forces in Tripoli.
Ramah Saleh, 30, was captured by rebel soldiers when they entered Gaddafi's Bab al-Aziziyah compound on August 23.
Despite being detained carrying a weapon, Saleh, who was arrested with another woman, Huda Hussein, denied being a bodyguard.
"I am not a volunteer, I am regular member of the popular security not the revolution council," she said.
Speaking to a Reuters journalist, Saleh said she has had a miscarriage and was harassed by antio-Gaddafi troops in her prison cell.
"I have had a miscarriage and I am bleeding. Since yesterday, a group of men came to my cell and harassed me and since then I am not feeling well."
The general in charge of the police station in the Tripoli district of Souk al Jumaa, told Reuters that she was arrested because she was known to be a Gaddafi bodyguard.
"She was arrested holding a weapon. She is known to be one of the bodyguards of Gaddafi." General Osman al-Zawi said, "They were given weapons before the revolution and also during this period. She was interrogated and her case is being studied by a legal councillor," he said. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
