- Story Text: Hollywood stars Salma Hayek and Antonio Bandera visited Warsaw on Tuesday (September 27) to promote their new film "Puss in Boots".
Hayek and Banderas arrived at a movie theater in central Warsaw to an enthusiastic audience and answered questions about the film.
"Yes, it was very strange, because we went to see another movie in the theatre and I didn't know that they had the trailers out. And when I heard him (Banderas) I said wait a minute, that sounds familiar and then I knew my character was gonna come up and I wanted to explain to her but I didn't have time. And then she heard my voice and she said 'Mommy! That cat sounds just like you.' And then after I had to explain, so when she saw it, she had already. She was confused at the beginning," Salma Hayek explained how her daughter learned that her mom played in "Puss in Boots".
The two haven't been seen together for a while and it was clear they had fun working together on and off the set.
"And you know, it was kind of logical decision, because also in this movies and since 'Shrek' is actually mocking some old fairytales. In a way, they use us and they use some of the work that we have done before, you know. There is little things of 'Zorro', obviously and little things of 'Desperados'. And the fact that we have Spanish accents both of us, the characters and in that kind of universe, in that kind of world (inaudible), so it was a natural election. And when he called me and he said Salma Hayek, for me it was 'oh, yeah, absolutely!'," Banderas said after a question on choosing the leading roles for the film.
"Puss in Boots", a DreamWorks Animation's production is directed by animator Chris Miller, who also directed Shrek the Third.
