- Story Text: U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama goes sight-seeing at Marbella old town.
U.S. First Lady Michelle Obama went sight seeing at Marbella's historic old town on Wednesday (August 4), the first day of her holiday in the southern coast of Spain.
The First Lady and her daughter arrived in Spain earlier on Wednesday for a 5-day private holiday.
She arrived at Malaga airport and was transferred in a 15-car security convoy to the hotel Villa Padierna where she will spend most of her holiday.
The First Lady reserved 70 rooms at the luxury resort which is rated as one of the best in the world.
A massive security operation was also in place at the hotel and the surrounding areas where national guards and special bomb squads worked in conjunction with White House security officials.
The first lady and one of her daughters is scheduled to stay at the hotel with some friends until Aug. 8 for a private get-away.
During the visit, the Obama family is also expected to travel to Granada to visit the Alhambra and host a gala charity ball at the hotel on Saturday before flying to Palma de Mallorca and meet the Spanish royal family . - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
