- Story Text: American actor John Travolta arrived in Madrid on Tuesday (March 27) to promote his latest film "Wild Hogs" ahead of its London premiere on Wednesday (March 28).
The comedy is about four American suburbanites who, in a desperate attempt to recapture their youth, abandon their day jobs to go on a cross-country motorbike adventure from Ohio to California.
At a news conference in Madrid, Travolta said he enjoyed his role in the film, because he could relate it to his own personal experience.
"As often as possible I escaped on ventures and adventures, before fame and during so I think that one of the great pleasures in life is running away with friends, family and having a weekend, a great vacation. It balances the whole portfolio of ones life," he said.
The film is also features actors Ray Liotta and Tim Allen.
Allen, known for his Christmas comedies and role in the television series Home Improvement, showed his usual sense of humour when he talked about his professional and personal maturity.
"I don't sweat the small stuff, my kid and I get along better, I don't worry so much about little things. The bad news is that I constantly worry about my health, I make noises just standing, things don't work the way they used to," he said, laughing.
A reporter pointed out that Ray Liotta was not included in the film's promotional poster and asked him how he felt about about having a secondary role in the movie. Liotta said that he understands actors careers have ups and downs and in his case he just takes roles that apply to him.
"Just because you're not the main guy, doesn't necessarily mean that it's not a fulfilling experience," he said.
"Wild Hogs" has been reported by studio estimates to be Walt Disney's biggest March opening in the United States. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
