- Story Text:The 51th annual Golden Bell Awards for television kicked off in Taipei on Saturday (October 8) with celebrities stealing the spotlight on the red carpet.
"A touch green" directed by a Taiwanese director Tsao Jui-yuan swept 6 trophies, no doubt to be the biggest winner this time.
The event, Taiwan's equivalent to the Emmy Awards, attracted stars including Taiwanese popular musical group 5566, actor kingone Wang, Roy Chiu actress Cheyl Yang, Nana Lee and so on gathering at the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall.
In total 1949 pieces of works were registered to compete for various awards in the TV production award, and 37 were nominated.
Wu Kang-ren, 33-year-old Taiwanese actor, acted as leading actor Guo Zhen in a television drama "A Touch Green" that described a story between a pilot and his loved one during 1945-1981 in the wartime in Taiwan.
"I just didn't explain clearly. I would really like to encourage to Taiwan's television drama that we still have many actors who haven't been seen and need more subject matters, not only idol drama but also more video production corporations to develop more subject matters, trusting screen writer and respecting expert. We can do it, we really can do it in our generation," he said at winners' press conference.
Alice Ko, who won the Best Actress In A Drama Series, acted as an office lady Tsai Huan-chen in television drama "Marry Me, or not".
"I didn't think of (winning this award), but I acted very seriously this time so I really wanted to win. So when this award was announced, I still felt a little shocked," she added.
