- Story Text: Pamela Anderson and Jessica Simpson, in Cannes to present their new films, attend parties on a yacht. Pamela Anderson and Jessica Simpson brought some American glamour on the French Riviera resort of Cannes on Friday (May 18) as they attended parties on a yacht to promote their new movies.
Anderson was in Cannes to introduce her new film, "Blonde and Blonder", which her brother wrote.
"I'm not representing a film here, well I am representing a film while I'm here but it's not in the festival. It's a little movie my brother did so here to support him," she told reporters as she attended a party on a yacht in the Cannes harbour.
"It's called Blonde and Blonder, it's my brother's film. I did it for my brother," she added.
The comedy, which also stars former Bond girl Denise Richards, charts the adventures of two dim-witted blondes who get mistaken for assassins.
Later on Friday evening, it was Jessica Simpson's turn to occupy centre stage as she turned up on the yacht to drum up interest in 'Major Movie Star', a film the singer-turned-actress will shoot this summer.
Simpson said she was enjoying her first Cannes experience and had already delayed her flights back home. She told reporters she had a new look and an upbeat take on life.
"We changed my hair colour tonight, I'm going back to blonde because I have to be blonde in the movie and we start shooting around July 9th. So I'm starting to go back to blonde, new life, new image, you know, trying to embrace everything that's beautiful in life," Simpson told the crowd of journalists gathered on the pier.
"I have to go through bootcamp and I have to get in some serious shape because I mean we do ten takes of me dropping down and giving you in my Jimmy Choos and that's a lot work out so you'll probably see me in the best shape that I've ever been by midsummer," she added.
'Major Movie Star' will see Simpson play an A-list star who gives up her glamorous lifestyle and enlists in the Marines. Upon arrival at Camp Pendleton, she realises the consequences of that drastic decision but ends up making the military proud.
Simpson said she was looking forward to the summer shoot and the military theme, with a cast full of men in uniforms.
"Cute guys in uniforms? We haven't cast the rest but hopefully there will be a cute one," she said.
However, when asked about her relationship with singer John Mayer and speculations over a break-up between the couple, Simpson remained tight-lipped.
"I'm going to keep my private life my private life but I am very happy," she said. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
