- Story Text: The Pyeongchang 2018 Winter Games' organising committee (POCOG) unveiled to the public on Thursday (September 22) a set of commemorative coins for the next Olympic and Paralympic games.
The coins feature winter sports, such as South Korea's traditional "Gorosoi ski" on a 30,000 won gold coin ($27), and short track speed skating, ski jumping, and luging on 20,000 won ($18) silver coins.
"It has been two days since the Olympic torch in Rio was extinguished. Now it is time for the Pyeongchang era," said the head of the Pyeongchang Winter Olympics' organizing committee, Lee Hee-beom.
The POCOG said local pre-orders start on September 26 and continue until October 7. They will also be sold through six different overseas distributors, POCOG added.
