- Story Text: "The Low Down" is a contemporary story about young adults and their relationship, on life, love and other four-letter words. It stars Aidan Gillen who shot to fame in the acclaimed and controversial gay drama series "Queer as Folk."
Aidan Gillen stars as Frank, a restless young man in his late twenties whose life revolves around his friends and his work.
He's aware of a need to move his life into another gear, but while he knows something has to change, he's not sure what or how.
On the theme of being thirty-something and lost in life Gillen said he didn't "really feel like that."
Some of his friends are already settling down - he knows he's expected to follow suit sooner or later. Frank's indecision comes to a head when he becomes involved with Rudy (Kate Ashfield, whose optimistic and fresh approach to life and its problems begins to have a dramatic effect on him.
