A round of Kampuchean Peace talks ended in Jakarta on Tuesday with delegates expressing differing views on the value of the meeting.
The Phnom Penh Government, three guerrilla factions, the foreign ministers of Vietnam, Laos and members of the Association of South east Asian Nations (ASEAN) met for six days to discuss the settlement of the region's last major armed conflict.
After the meeting the guerrilla groups said "The negotiations made little progress." while Indonesian foreign minister, Ali Alatas, said: "I believe we have made progress."
Vietnamese foreign minister Nguyen Co Thach said he would hold another round of talks in July with the Laos foreign minister and the ASEAN members.
If the proposed July meeting happens it will fall between a Sino/Soviet Summit planned for May and Vietnam's proposed withdrawal from Kampuchea in September.
On Monday a group of Thai parliamentarians and businessmen visited Kampuchea to investigate trade potential.
The delegation, including businessmen keen to expand black market trade in gems, timber, food, clothes and other goods, visited the Port of Koh Kong, where they were welcomed by Shea Sim, a leading member of Kampuchea's Politburo.
