- Story Text: Thousands chanted against Denmark and other countries where cartoons of the Islamic prophet Mohammad were published in newspapers, at a rally organised by Turkey's political Felicity Party in Istanbul on Sunday (February 19).
Around five thousand people gathered to protest at the cartoons at the pro-islamist "Respect to Belief, Love to Prophet" rally organised by the Felicity party who have no seats in the Turkish parliament.
People carrying Turkish and Felicity party flags chanted against countries where cartoons were published. On banners in the crowd, Europe was symbolised as a pig, a food banned by Islam.
Police took heavy security measures for the rally.
