- Story Text: Robert Pattinson is the English actor who shot to Hollywood fame as brooding vampire Edward Cullen in blockbuster movie "Twilight".
People magazine, in 2010, named him one of the "World's Most Beautiful".
He has wax statues of himself in the Madame Tussaud's collections in London and New York City.
But on Thursday (December 1) his Chinese fans got up close and personal with his new wax lookalike at Madame Tussaud's in Shanghai.
The wax museum organised a brief ceremony to launch Pattinson's wax statue with two of his Chinese fans dressed in wedding gowns, in reference to his on-screen love interest, "Bella" in the "Twilight" movies.
The two women said they were thrilled to be selected to unveil Pattinson's wax lookalike.
"I feel very excited and also nervous today since I am one of his Chinese fans who not only can join in to unveil his statue and but also get close and intimate with him as dressed as his bride, "Bella". I like his brooding style and his charming eyes. I would very much like to be his better half in real life," said 20-year-old Shi Yanwen (pron: she-yan-wen).
"I feel that this looks so much like the real person when I first saw it. It's like the real person standing in front of me. I feel the likeness is very detailed, such as his eyes and his hair," added 23-year-old Gong Chenchen (pron: gong-chen-chen).
Time magazine has named Pattinson as one of 2010's "100 Most Influential People in the World".
Film distributor Summit Entertainment said Pattinson's latest offering, "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn - Part 1" broke the $500 million U.S. dollars mark at worldwide box offices when it was released in November. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
