- Story Text: Security was tight in Berlin on Saturday (May 27) as thousands of soccer fans descended on the capital to watch the German Cup final.
A high police presence was visible in the city centre and at the Olympic Stadium where Borussia Dortmund were set to take on Eintracht Frankfurt at 1800GMT.
Despite heightened security concerns after last week's bomb attack on a British concert hall, fans were in high spirits and said they were undaunted.
Several fans told Reuters they wanted to show they were not afraid as a signal of defiance after the Manchester attack which killed 22 people and injured dozens more.
Dortmund are desperate to snap a losing run of three consecutive German Cup finals, having missed out on the trophy since they won it in 2012. Eintracht finished 11th in the Bundesliga this season and last won the Cup in 1988. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
