- Story Text: Lionel Richie has told Reuters he won't let terrorist attacks at music concerts put him off touring.
He explained: "It's not good when you have this kind of threat. I just wish we'd get this together, you know? We have to figure out how to keep society and our sanity together and not fall for this terror because I love the stage, I love being a part of the marriage between the band, the singer and the audience, that's the best, and when you make that a scary moment... I think we're going to overcome it, as always, but it's just one of those things where it's a very dark time right now."
The iconic singer-songwriter is about to head off on a 22 date North American tour accompanied by Mariah Carey. Called "All The Hits," it'll kick off in Oakland, California on July 21, he promised that special guest Carey was going to "bring the camp."
Richie, best known for songs such as "Hello," "All Night Long" and "Dancing on the Ceiling," also joked with Reuters that he was annoyed he has never been asked to record the theme tune to a James Bond movie. He also revealed that he felt now was the time for a new version of charity single "We Are The World" as it could help bring people together with a message of love. - Copyright Holder: REUTERS
