EX-SABC TV 1 NEWS [CONRAD BURKE]: REACTIONS TOì
BUTHELEZI'S WALK-OUT OF PARLIAMENT:
01.06.27 BUTHELEZI COMMENT PRESSER: "I'm hopingì
that reason would prevail and that it might beì
possible for us to continue I don't know becauseì
that is we did willy-nilly in the interest of theì
country as a whole & the people of SA."
01.06.47 ANC MP REAX: "We regard the action todayì
as very unfortunate. It's based on a crisis thatì
is non-existent inten mediation. The ANC isì
committed to the resolution of this matter. We areì
committed to discussions with the IFP & the NP onì
this matter so that solutions can be found to dealì
with this matter once and for all, but we are alsoì
saying parliament work shall go on & theì
constitutional-making process should go on & weì
hope that very soon the IFP will be back.."
01.07.17 NP ROELF MEYER MINISTER OF CONSTITUTIONALì
DEVELOPMENT REAX: "The move by the IFP thisì
afternoon took us all by surprise, because it wasì
completely unnecessary. We were looking atì
arranging a meeting between the leaders, Presì
Mandela Dep Pres De Klerk, Mr Buthelezi about thisì
whole matter and in fact that was what we from theì
NP proposed...for that reason that I'm saying theì
move took us by surprise completely ..."
01.07.56 REAX CONSTAND VILJOEN FREEDOM FRONT: "Weì
think that the step can only be solved atì
leadership level and we therefore think that Mrì
Mandela, Buthelezi and De klerk have to pay urgentì
attention to this, because the last thing we canì
afford at this stage is a break-down in theì
stability situation inside the country."
01.08.12 TONI LEON DEMOCRATIC PARTY REAX: "In ourì
view it severly undermines the prospect ofì
parliamentary democracy taking root in SA. We'reì
in a very fragile situation. The capacity forì
violence now must be much greater & it's a matterì
of great concern. We would hope that it can beì
resolved asap." - Copyright Holder: Visnews
