I/V UNHCR: We have 380 000 refugees in neighbouring coutries, guinea and libera. It is hoped between now and February 1998 we will have brought back 240 000 refugees.

I/V UNHCR: Apart from food which is being provided by WFP and other NGO's, UNHCR intends to provide household items such as plastic sheetings to help them protect them against the elements and utensils mats and lamps which they need on arrival. Apart from the emergency response the UNHCR will also contribute along with other agencies to rehabilite the social infrasturcture which has been destroyed by the war.
